On September 5, 2008 Councilmember Isadore Hall of Compton, and candidate for the 52nd Assembly District participated in UCLA's “Candidate to Campus” Program. The purpose of the program is to invite newly elected officials to campus and introduce them to key faculty and staff who have an expertise in their policy areas of interest. By facilitating these meetings, UCLA's State Government Relations Department develops an early understanding of the candidate's future legislative priorities in Sacramento .
Isadore Hall's visit consisted of a welcome lunch with students, faculty and alumni, followed by a meeting with Vice Chancellor Steve Olsen and a tour of the new hospital. The Center for Community College Partnership participated by joining the lunch and explaining what they do to help transition and prepare community college students for their university experience.
