On September  19 , 2008 UCLA State Government Relations hosted former Assemblyman and C andidate for the  25th Senate District , Roderick Wright, as part of the “Candidate to Campus” Program.   This year's program both introduced and reacquainted Wright with faculty experts and key staff.  It gave participants the opportunity to get to know the Candidate early on, in an effort to lay a foundation for future collaborations.

The day began promptly at 10:oo a.m. and included meetings with Vice Chancellor of Budget, Finance, and Capital Programs, Steve Olsen, UCLA Law School Dean Michael Schill, Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies, Claudia Mitchell-Kernan and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Janina Montero.    With four meetings and a working luncheon for over 20 participants, Roderick Wright stayed busy throughout his UCLA visit.  Overall,  t he day's dialogue was successful in providing an opportunity to discuss future legislative priorities and policy goals and bringing together UCLA stakeholders and the 25th Senate District's Candidate.
